The picture

Five of Swords is 55, a 10/1 and a doubled 5: the picked-up swords, the people walking away. 1 wants to win; 5 wants freedom; together they can loot a room and call it independence. Pick your battles. Walking away can be the only clean sword left.

Javane’s 55 is five looking in a mirror — change squared — reducing to a new self after all that motion. In this suit the new self can be a person standing on a beach with extra steel and no friends. The painting is a purple shore under a torn sky. A man in green velvet smirks while he gathers blades from the sand. Two others walk toward the water, backs bent. Crossed shafts of light fall on the sea. Shells and seaweed mark what the tide already took.

The gift is knowing when a fight is not worth the air. The shadow is cruel victory, gloating, collecting swords instead of friends, a storm that never makes landfall because the only skill is winning. All that freedom is supposed to become a beginning, not a personality made of exits and spoils.
