Proportion. Healing. The skill of combining without muddying.

Major Arcana · XIV · number 14
Alchemy. Two cups, one path, nothing wasted.
Sagittarius · Hebrew Samekh · Fire of Water — the mix
An angel with iridescent gold-flecked wings stands with one foot in a still pool and one on stone, pouring from a gold cup while holding a silver cup. A winding path runs toward a sun between two mountains.
Temperance is Sagittarius as a chemist, not a tourist. Javane’s 14 is a karmic 5 — appetite that has to find a vessel. The angel does not choose gold or silver. The angel pours.
A life with this current is unhappy when it is only one note: only art or only science, only spirit or only payroll. The constructive Temperance travels between camps and can speak both languages. The shadow is dilution, people-pleasing, or a mix so careful nothing ever ferments.
Proportion. Healing. The skill of combining without muddying.
Compromise that erases you. Excess in the name of ‘balance.’
Pour one cup into another on purpose: two hours of each, no third.
You mix opposites and are unhappy when life is only one note. The 14/5 homework is freedom with a vessel — movement that still holds water.
Blend. Moderate. Travel between two camps as the one who can speak both languages.
Javane numbered the deck 1–78 and laid those numbers on the Divine Triangle: Life Lesson, square centers, Major and Minor ages. When 14 appears as a standing number, read it as a life theme. When it appears as a year or a peak age, read the passing current. It is never a second Life Path.
