The picture
A mature man in gold-trimmed armor and an oxblood cloak sits on a stone throne carved with ram heads. A gold orb in one hand, a scepter in the other, a crown of hammered gold. Barren mountains and a hard sky behind him.
In this house
The Emperor is Aries as architecture: will that has agreed to be responsible for a territory. Javane’s 4 is foundation, system, useful work. This is not the Magician’s spark. This is the wall, the calendar, the budget, the father-function whether or not a man holds it.
When the card is lived well, authority protects what it names. When it is lived from fear, it becomes a ram against the door — control, rigidity, a kingdom with no garden. The mountains behind him are real. Someone has to keep the pass.
